The Catholic Independent Schools of Vancouver Archdiocese (CISVA) is seeking an exceptional individual for the position of Superintendent.

The Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Vancouver strive to “evangelize school communities which foster a personal relationship with Jesus in the family of the Church”. They exist to “guide students in the pursuit of truth, beauty and goodness within the Catholic Intellectual tradition” and they “foster the growth of responsible citizens who will live, celebrate, and proclaim their faith”.

The CISVA is compromised of 40 elementary schools and 6 secondary schools, all of which are committed to the formation of students within a Catholic worldview. The Superintendent provides leadership and support to CISVA schools as they set out to fulfill these objectives. He/She is responsible for the effective operation of the CISVA and for the implementation of the policies, procedures and regulations established by the CISVA and the Ministry of Education for Independent Schools in the province of British Columbia. He/She works collaboratively with the Archbishop, CISVA Board of Directors, CISVA Superintendent’s Office personnel, Pastors, Principals and the 46 Education Committees to realize these goals. The successful candidate will:
•Be an active, practicing Catholic, faithful to the magisterium of the Catholic Church
•Articulate and promote the CISVA mission, vision and philosophy of education
•Navigate current and future challenges in adherence with this mission, vision and philosophy of education
•Be committed to developing “an evangelizing school community which fosters a personal relationship with Jesus inthe family of the Church”
•Have proven strong, inspiring, and trusted leadership skills that have demonstrated the ability to affect positivechange
•Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
•Have the ability to strategically and collaboratively engage all members of the school community
•Demonstrate a strong understanding of CISVA and BC Ministry of Education curriculum, policies, and procedures
•Effectively support school communities to actively promote the Principles of Catholic Education throughout thecurriculum and instructional practices
•Have a Master Degree in a field relevant to Catholic education
•Have a minimum of five years administrative experience, preferably in Catholic schools. This experience should besufficiently broad so as to allow for effective leadership across a wide variety of domains
•Possess a valid BC Teaching Certificate
