Worksafe BC – Training Sessions for Joint Committee Members (Part 2)
This two-part training session will allow each CISVA school to meet Worksafe BC’s mandatory training requirements for Joint Health and Safety Committee Members. As per Worksafe BC: All joint committee members selected on or after April 3, 2017 must receive eight hours of training and instruction on the following topics:
– The duties and functions of a joint committee
– The rules of procedure of the joint committee
– The requirements around conducting incident investigations
– The requirements around conducting regular workplace inspections, and how to make regular inspections
– The requirements around responding to a refusal of unsafe work
– The requirements for annually evaluating the joint committee
These two-part training sessions will cover 6 hours of the mandatory training. The other two hours must be completed on-line by each attendee prior to the August 26 session. Here is the link to that on-line component:
