2021/22 School Year Theme: “One Family, One Hope in Christ.”
Welcome back to a new school year!
Every year in May, principals, teachers, and staff of the Superintendent’s Office, as well as teachers and administrators from the other BC dioceses, gather (this year virtually) to plan for our annual theme. After much prayer, consideration, and planning, we’re excited to share that the theme for the 2021/22 school year is, “One Family, One Hope in Christ.”
Throughout the course of our lives, our relationships and interactions shape us for better (and for worse). We have an amazing capacity as humans to remember and organize all these smaller interactions into larger pictures. The little pieces of life are brought together in our hearts and become “mosaics” that dramatically influence the way we see the world and others. As educators in our school-parish communities, we seek to care and guide those around us. An encouraging word, a consoling prayer, a simple smile can sometimes be the little piece that contributes to a life-changing mosaic for others. Appreciating the influence of those who have shaped us as well as those we shape makes a world of difference.
We come together as one community, united with our local diocese and the global Church to celebrate the “Amoris Laetitia Family” year. We look forward to seeing how members of our CISVA school-parish community will live out this beautiful theme in simple and extraordinary ways throughout the Church’s liturgical seasons during the school year. As we reflect on the historical figures of Jesus’ life and community, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Joseph, we pray that we may be encouraged to always have hope in Christ and strive to grow in charity and holiness.
Holy Family, pray for us.
